Suggestions for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from your Massage Therapist

Posted by | May 12, 2017.

I’ve been learning of more and more of my clients dealing with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. According to a study, it was found that Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common nerve compression disorder of the upper extremity. With many people sitting at their computers for long hours, along with various other professions, the wrists get used frequently and it can cause tightness and pain in the carpal area. I normally focus on the carpal tunnel area when my clients feel pain.

The essential oils I found to help open up the carpal area include:

  • Peppermint oil
  • Lavender oil
  • Eucalyptus oil

Along with professional massage, continue self-massage at home, plus other minerals and natural herbal products can help. Give it a month or more to feel the results:

  • WHOLE LEAF ALOE VERA – drink 3 oz. 2x daily, organic sodium is needed.
  • HYDRANGEA – pushes out inorganic calcium
  • B-6 (100mg 3x/day) plus MAGNESIUM, 1200 mg
  • RELIEF FORMULA helps relieve minor aches and pains

Also, watch your diet, eliminate junk food, red meat and acid foods. Check your pH and eat right for your blood type. (I have Blood type charts).

Last week I was excited to share how nice my skin looks since I’ve been doing my herbal colon cleanse. I’ve been cleansing for almost a month. I have gotten rid of lots of waste, gas and toxins. Did you know I also have a YouTube along with this blog?

I did a video on how this herbal colon cleanse is an anti-aging program. (See above).

Check it out and subscribe to my YouTube. I plan to add new videos soon!!!

Thanks to having teenaged sons I’ve learned how to create YouTubes. I will never forget when my oldest son was a little boy about 8 years old. He had bought something for his Game boy hand-held game and he was trying to figure out how to work the accessory he bought, so I watched him get on the computer, go to YouTube and another little boy about the same age as him popped up on YouTube and gave him clear directions on how to use his new toy. I was amazed. My sons went on to even create their own YouTube channel! I said “Wait a minute, let me get these little boys to train me!” So now I’ve been YouTubing and I’ve also gained training from a lady name Chrissy of “Chrissy Glam”

Congested system – Varicose Veins

Posted by | April 28, 2017.

Ballerina, Misty Copeland

Our body gives us signs that it’s congested and blood flow is not what it should be. One sign is varicose veins. Many women battle with this condition. Those large, raised veins, most times blue in color. The inflammation can cause pain. Women are getting treatments to remove these veins but many do not try to find the root of the problem and solve that issue. People who have jobs that cause them to stand for long hours can contribute to the cause of varicose veins.

Other causes include:

  • Fried Foods
  • Dairy
  • Constipation
  • Obesity
  • Low fiber diet

To help rid varicose veins with a natural program and healthy lifestyle here are some suggestions:

Herbal supplements:

  • Vari-gone formula
  • Vari-gone cream
  • Butcher’s broom – tones, strengthens and nourishes veins.
  • Capsicum – start with one cap and increase
  • Noni juice – contains enzymes
  • Herbal colon cleanse program (Granddaddy cleanse – recipe available)
Has fiber, laxative, bentonite clay to loosen hardened fecal matter

Aromatherapy:

Lemon, Cypress, Sandalwood, Peppermint, Clary Sage (10 drops Lemon, 4 drops Peppermint, 2 drops Sandalwood in tbsp. Of massage oil).

Diet:

Vegetarian diet is best, plenty green vegetables – helps circulation

Lots of red and blue fruits, whole grains, brown rice and fish for essential fatty acids.

Lifestyle:

Regular exercise and dry skin brushing

Marguerite’s Herbal Updates – April 25, 2017

Posted by | April 25, 2017.

I was talking with my mentor recently. I was concerned because I know so many people personally who have experienced heart attacks, strokes and other serious issues. I asked what her suggestions were for people who have experienced recent heart attacks and had stints put in their arteries to help open up and help the blood flow to the heart. This knowledge is for myself, all my friends, clients and loved ones. We are on a mission to encourage people to follow PREVENTATIVE HEALTH MEASURES!!! My dear, dear brothers and sisters, let’s jump on it!!! I am on my colon cleanse now for over 3 weeks and I must say it feels so good to get so much waste, gas, hardened fecal matter, and parasites out of my system. My skin looks clearer and my tummy is going down!!! If you want to fight the aging process and stay on a healthy path start with a good herbal colon cleanse. I recommend the GRANDDADDY CLEANSE. Ask me for details. There are also plans for heart health and more. Get with me so you can follow a healthy plan!

Me after 3 weeks of cleansing, I am happy with the appearance of my skin! I have a healthier glow.

I hope to hear less and less about Diabetes, Kidney Disease, Heart Disease, Auto-immune disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, Cancer, Leukemia and all the serious, serious dis-ease and dis-orders people are battling with. PLEASE FOLLOW MY HEALTH BLOG AND SHARE!!!!

Skin care from within

Psoriasis, Eczema, Acne, etc. are all signs you need a cleanse to clean the blood. Clear the toxins from the body. I was diagnosed with Psoriasis when I was a young woman barely in my twenties. I had terrible dandruff and I found out it was Psoriasis. I was given a prescription shampoo and ointment that helped but as soon as I ran out I had to get a refill or the flaky scalp was back. Psoriasis also shows up on the cracks around your nose, sometimes flaky forehead, neck and even on your back and all over. The first time I did a 90 day colon cleanse the first thing I noticed was how nice my skin cleared up. It was smooth and acne free and NO DANDRUFF!!! Since my Psoriasis cleared up so nicely from cleansing I promote it with a passion since then. The benefits are endless, from clearer skin to clearing up many health issues.

Other things that help with Psoriasis and Eczema:

  • Par D’Arco lotion
  • Silver Shield gel

We lost a great one to Leukemia

Charlie Murphy! When I think of Charlie Murphy I think of a bright, bright smile and I can’t believe that bright smile is gone. I pray more people learn of the holistic ways to fight Leukemia. One herb known to help fight Leukemia is UNA DE GATO, aka CAT’S CLAW is an herb that is most helpful in building the macrophages (white blood cells) that are destroyed during the process of Chemo & Radiation. This is important because this miraculous herbal combo* helps to alleviate the ‘Nausea, Vomiting, Aches, Pains, Hair Loss’, and more – that is often associated with Chemotherapy especially. This herb has many other benefits too….. Cat’s claw is an herb popular among the indigenous people of Peru, where it is used to ‘treat’ cancer, diabetes, ulcers, arthritis, and infections, as well as to assist in recovery from childbirth. It is also used as a contraceptive.

What Is Cat’s Claw Used for Today?

Cat’s claw is most often marketed as a treatment for viral diseases, such as herpes , shingles, AIDS, and feline leukemia virus. Also Osteo & Rheumatoid Arthritis, Cartilage damage, Bursitis, Bowel Obstructions, Stomach Ulcers, Crohn’s, Allergies, Diverticulitis, Many Viruses (Epstein Barr, Herpes, HIV/AIDS), Lyme Disease, Reye’s Syndrome, [Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth & Leaky Gut Syndrome – the root of many Auto-Immune and other disorders!]

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

We can begin to change our health for the better by living healthy lifestyles and using the herbs God gave us for the healing of our bodies. Contact me if you would like a personalized program.

Best Herbs for Diabetes Treatment

Time to get your health on point with a healthy herbal program.

Article from guest writer Jon Reyes

Diabetes is a disease in which your body cannot produce or cannot respond properly to its natural insulin hormone.  This results in a metabolism of carbohydrates that is not normal, along with increased levels of glucose in both blood and urine.  There are two main types of this disease; each must be treated in a different manner. (The third type of diabetes is gestational diabetes which affects women who are pregnant and can often be reversed once the baby is born, although they will be at risk for gestational diabetes with subsequent pregnancies and also have an increased risk for Type 2 diabetes)

Type 1 Diabetes

In this case, the body’s immune system attacks and kills beta cells of the pancreas.  This limits or entirely cuts off the production of insulin, which would normally help the body turn sugar into energy.  Since the sugar is not converted, it builds up in the blood.  Type 1 diabetes generally develops in children or early adolescence, but has been known to develop in adults as well.  Type 1 diabetes is treated with insulin and by keeping sugar levels down through careful meal planning.

Type 2 Diabetes

In this case, the body either does not make enough insulin or cannot properly process the insulin that is being released.  Again, sugar builds up in the blood instead of being converted to energy.  Type 2 diabetes more often develops in adulthood but children can also be affected.  Type 2 diabetes is often controlled very well by exercise and meal planning, but may require insulin or mediations.

Cinnamon

This herb, used in flavourings for centuries, was first discovered in India in the mid 1500’s.  It comes from the inner bark of specific trees, and is widely distributed the world over.  Cinnamon is also grown and harvested in Brazil, the Caribbean, Vietnam, China and Burma.  Cinnamon is known for its brown colour and for its perfect pairing with brown sugar in a variety of sweets.  Maybe not quite so well known for its use as an insulin sensitizer, cinnamon can be a good aid in the fight against diabetes.  Taking this herb regularly can mean a drop in blood sugar levels.  In one study, 60 Type 2 diabetes sufferers (all adults) took a regular dose of this herb and found an 18 to 29 percent drop in their blood sugar levels.  This significance cannot be overlooked or understated.  Cinnamon can be sprinkled onto an apple or even added to soups.  You can add cinnamon to tea or in your healthy baked goods.

Fenugreek

This seed was originally used in Middle Eastern cooking and is paired with curry dishes.  Fenugreek is also known as methi, and is an annual plant grown in many places all over the world.  This herb is also now known to reduce blood sugar, reduce cholesterol and increase insulin sensitivity.  A study done with near 100 diabetic patients discovered that consuming 25 seeds a day found considerable improvements in both blood sugar levels and in post meal spikes.  For a daily drink, crush seeds and then add to a cup with boiling water and cover.  Allow the seeds to steep and then strain them out.  You can also easily sprinkle seeds over food like salads or soups and enjoy the health benefits in this manner.

Ginseng

Although ginseng is grown in a variety of locations, it was first discovered in China about 5000 years ago, and has been used in both food and medicine since.  This root can be taken as a supplement, or it lends itself well to tinctures.  With regards to diabetes, this herb has been shown to improve an individual’s use of blood glucose, and carbohydrate absorption.  It also increases insulin production in the pancreas.  One study found that blood sugar levels were lowered by 15 to 20 percent by the regular use of ginseng capsules.

Gymnema Sylvestre

You’ve probably heard of most other herbs on this list, but gymnema sylvestre might be a new one for you.  This plant is native to India and Sri Lanka and is generally found growing within their tropical forests.  It has been discovered as a wonderful treatment for those with diabetes as it helps to reduce blood sugar and limits the accumulation of glucose in the body.  It also may help to increase insulin production.

Diabetes is a common disease that can be managed by exercise, a healthy diet, and sometimes with medication.  If you can at all help your treatment with the use of natural supplements or herbs in your food, give it a try.  They offer very few side effects when taken in the right dose, and can alleviate many symptoms.  Give each a try and see what works for you.

Diabetes Testimony

This was taken from an Nature Sunshine Products forum website:

I was found to have diabetes type 2 last April. After doing some personal research, checking with Mary Jane L., my NSP Rep and a nutritionist, I embarked on an aggressive new diet -totally eliminating all forms of sugar and no sugar substitutes, no white flower and no milk products, mostly salads and fresh vegetables, various beans, little meat, whole grain cereals, Ezekiel Bread, almond butter and cashews and lots of water. My diet previously had been junk food, sweets/pastries/cake/ice cream, loads of pasta, lots of red meat, coffee – almost no fresh vegetables or salad – most of the wrong things.

A few weeks into the process I added Chromium GTF – it made a significant difference in the numbers, evened the swings out – lessening the morning and mid-afternoon drops and the peaks after meals. I noticed that it took one tablet about every 4-5 hours to really stabilize my system. During the process, although I was not overly heavy, I lost 20 pounds in approximately 2 1/2 months. I ran out of my supply of Chromium GTF about 6 months into the process and decided I had to have my Chromium and couldn’t wait to get some from Mary Jane, so I picked up what the GNC clerk said was their best product – GNC Chromium Picolinate 500. I expected the same result but was very disappointed. There was a day and night difference between the two products. Within a couple of days I was on the phone to Mary Jane and told her what had happened and that I needed several bottles of NSP’s product right away!

Since then, I have converted to the Sugar Reg and have found it to be far superior to Chromium. I still take 4-5 per day and I rarely encounter any problem, even under stress. When I wake up every morning my numbers are always between 94 and 112. I don’t want to be without it.

Essential Oils and their Benefits (Learn the benefits of some single oils)

Posted by | March 17, 2017.

I can put together a personalized aromatherapy massage blend just for you.

Article from our guest writer Jon Reyes

More than just an enjoyable part of a day at the spa, essential oils can provide tons of important health benefits all on their own! These oils, primarily made with plant extracts, are used as active ingredients in cleaning and personal hygiene products, pest control products, and over-the-counter medications like certain lice sprays and mentholated lozenges or rubs. Studies have even shown that these oils could be an exciting development in the battle against antibiotic resistant superbugs.

However, you don’t need to use products containing essential oils to benefit from them. These oils can be used as aromatherapy, massaged into the skin, added to bathwater, used in a compress, or burned in a diffuser. There are more than 90 types of essential oils, and most have antibacterial qualities as well as varying emotional and physical impacts. These oils can often be blended together to create a combination of functions to suit your needs – as well as a unique, soothing odor.

Sandalwood

Historically, this rich, woody essential oil has been used in medicines, skin and beauty treatments, and a wide range of hygiene products ranging from perfumes to mouth fresheners. The medicinal properties of sandalwood are extensive – this antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, and sedative qualities make it perfect for treating conditions including depression, reproductive health, bronchitis, stress, and even insecurity.

Lavender

Sweet, fresh, and floral, lavender is especially useful when it comes to relieving tension and pain, but it can also be used as a disinfectant for the skin and hair, stimulates blood circulation, and helps control respiratory issues. Studies have shown increased cognitive function and reduced stress and anxiety after inhaling lavender oil, making this a perfect choice for anyone who struggles with nerves. This fragrant oil can also be used as an insect repellant – and applied to any bites or stings reduce pain or irritation, thanks to lavender’s anti-inflammatory properties.

Peppermint

This oil has a familiar minty fragrance, and is used to treat gastrointestinal issues including nausea and flatulence. It’s also especially effective for relieving the pain of headaches and migraines, and the stimulating effect of this oil is ideal for people suffering from exhaustion or mental fatigue. Peppermint is a great alternative to traditional medications for anyone suffering from a cold, as this oil can help expel phlegm, clear congestion, and ease breathing.

Frankincense

The spicy, woody scent of frankincense is one of the most potent essential oils for ensuring good health. An application of this oil to cuts and scrapes can prevent wounds from sepsis, as frankincense can help promote cell regeneration and recovery – which can also help prevent the formation of cancer cells. Frankincense can heal scars and stretch marks, cure coughs and colds, relieve allergy symptoms, sooth anxiety, stress, and grief, and even mitigate potential brain damage from head injuries.

Cedarwood

Anyone who has had to suffer through a bout of athlete’s foot knows how unpleasant fungal infections can be – and cedarwood is a great way to treat these growths. This sharp, woody oil is used for a number of conditions, including skin problems, arthritis, bronchitis, cystitis, tuberculosis, and gonorrhea. Cedarwood is great for cleansing toxins, water, salt, and fat from the body, and helps to prevent hair loss.

Lemongrass

This fresh-smelling essential oil is great when you’re fighting an influenza outbreak. Not only does lemongrass help keep fevers down, it can kill bacteria, soothe inflammation, inhibit microbial growth, and reduce pain. This potent oil also reduces hemorrhaging and helps prevent wounds from becoming septic. It’s also very stimulating, and inhaling this oil can help with exhaustion and fatigue.

When shopping for essential oils to add to your health care routine, keep in mind that these are not interchangeable with fragrance oils. Essential oils are made from plants, but fragrance oils are artificially created, usually with synthetic chemicals, to give off a particular scent. They do smell nice and can generally be purchased quite inexpensively, they don’t have the valuable therapeutic benefits of essential oils. To get the full health benefits of essential oils, choose oils that are high quality and pure.

These oils are very strong, and if not used properly, could cause unwanted side effects. Check with a health care professional before you begin treating any serious conditions with essential oils.

Herbal Remedies for Skin Allergies

Posted by | February 28, 2017.

Meet my NEW GUEST AUTHOR:

Chamomile

Rashes, like most other skin irritations, can pop up almost anywhere – leading to itching, bumps, redness, and other unpleasant symptoms. Treating these irritations can be incredibly frustrating, as their cause isn’t always easy to identify. Generally, skin irritations come from plants, medications, foods, illnesses, or allergies. If you can factor out the causes that can be easier to pinpoint, like exposure to plants like poison ivy, side effects of medications you might be taking, or illnesses like chickenpox or measles, you’re left with allergies – which can take a lifetime to figure out.

Luckily, you can still treat the symptoms of a skin allergy without knowing the cause, using the therapeutic powers of herbal remedies. Staying away from pharmacological treatments lets you avoid making the condition worse thanks to unpredictable side effects, and gives you the opportunity to help your body heal in a more natural way.

Nettle Leaf

This herb is incredibly effective for treating all kinds of allergic reactions as it naturally inhibits the body’s production of histamine, a chemical involved in local immune responses, inflammatory response, and the central nervous system. Nettle leaf can be prepared as a tincture or a tea, often mixed with other beneficial herbal remedies like peppermint leaf and red raspberry leaf, but for acute allergic reactions, it can be taken in the form of a capsule made from dried nettle leaves.

Honey

While not necessarily an herbal remedy, there is plenty of anecdotal evidence out there to support the use of raw, local honey to help the body adapt to the allergens present in a particular environment. To achieve the best results using this technique, find unprocessed honey from as close to where you live as you can – this provides allergy protection similar to getting an actual allergy “shot.” A spoonful of honey at least once a day is usually enough to help relieve any symptoms.

Chamomile

Not just a sleep aid, chamomile is a powerful herbal remedy for treating skin allergies. Thanks to this plant’s antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal effects, a washcloth soaked in chamomile tea and applied to an affected part of the skin can help promote healing, relieve itching, and reduce inflammation, while providing a soothing sensation to calm your irritated skin. Use the compress several times a day, leaving it on the area for at least ten minutes at a time.

Chamomile can also be purchased as an essential oil. Mix the oil with a carrier oil, like coconut oil, and apply it directly to the rash several times a day, until the irritation is gone.

Neem

Also known as Indian lilac or margosa, Neem has traditionally been used to treat a wide variety of skin ailments, including scabies, acne, eczema, and infections. In addition to powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-irritant, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and analgesic properties, this useful herb contains antioxidants that help protect and rejuvenate skin cells.

Neem extract is available in many skin care products, including soap, cream, and lotion, or you can mix neem oil with water or a carrier oil to apply it to your skin allergy. Simmering neem leaves in water for 15 to 20 minutes provides a powerful tonic you can use on a washcloth or cotton ball for a compress on the affected area.

Coriander

This ancient Ayurvedic remedy has been used on rashes and itchy skin for years, taking advantage of coriander’s antiseptic, anti-irritant, and anti-inflammatory properties. With its calming fragrance and soothing sensation, coriander can be prepared in a number of ways to provide relief from skin allergies. A paste made from ground leaves can be directly applied to the area, or you can make a coriander tea or juice to consume daily until the rash clears up.

Thanks to the healing abilities of these magical herbal remedies, you don’t need to resort to medicated creams or lotions to treat minor skin allergies. However, if a rash persists for more than a few days, or gets worse after your attempted treatment, you might consider seeking the advice of your doctor or another health care professional to make sure it’s nothing more serious. You can always discuss the potential of using natural therapies with your health care provider once you’ve identified the cause of the irritation.
