7th day – The Lord’s day of rest

For going on 30 years now I have observed keeping the Lord’s Sabbath day of rest. In this busy hectic world we live in, many never take a day to rest. This is something so important, not only for your physical health but it is a spiritual journey also. As a young woman just out of college, I came to Chicago, first just to visit, but it ended up a permanent move. One big influence on me staying in Chicago is when I learned about the Sabbath day and other lessons straight from the scriptures of the bible. I had never in my life learned the bible the way it was taught at this small bible class I attended in Chicago, on the south side, called The Israel of God. I knew at that time I wouldn’t find a bible class like that in my home town of Detroit or any where else.

I continue to study at The Israel of God Bible Class today with Pastor Henry Buie. I watch the morning service online at:
www.theisraelofgod.com
10:00 am, central time

I also study at The House of Jacob Bible Study Class, on the west side of Chicago. We have a 1:00 p.m. service with Pastor Daniel Ashford. It airs online also:
www.houseofjacob.us
1:00 pm, central time

My family and I start the Sabbath off at sundown, Friday nights at Preacherhead.org with Bro. Steve Robinson’s Friday night bible lessons on conference calls and now on live YouTube channel.
www.preacherhead.org
9:00 p.m.

The lessons I’ve learned from these classes changed my life forever and I am forever grateful for their teachings. They have taught the Uncut Word of God for many years now, from Genesis to Revelation. If you are seeking a place for spiritual growth and understanding check these brothers out. They all except donations for their ministries so that they can continue to spread God’s Word throughout ALL the land.

Peace on the Sabbath!

Exodus 31:13-17

King James Version (KJV)

13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.

14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

Thanks Sis. Jael, I can’t believe it is going on 30 years, but I am thankful God has brought me through it all.

Thanks for this wonderful post. My husband and I started observing Shabbat/Sabbath from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown and eating a Biblical diet four years ago, and ever since we have, our businesses have been blessed. He has proven himself to be all that we need and He is faithful.

It is so important to keep our Lord’s commandments and to show our love for him. I always look forward to the sabbath day.
