The topic for Mom’s Healthy Radio Show on March 19th was Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS); condition 1 in 10 women of childbearing age are diagnosed with. Doctors are seeing more and more teens with this condition. Some of the symptoms include:
–    Irregular menstrual cycles
–    Insulin resistance
–    High level male hormones
–    Weight issues (Obesity)
–    Acne
–    Hirsutism – excessive and increased body hair

Doctors prescribe a medication called Metformin to help insulin level, because this condition can lead to Diabetes. Women are also put on birth control pills to regulate their menstrual cycles with artificial hormones. Women with PCOS deal with infertility problems also. Women with this condition need to take measure to deal with this condition before it goes in more serious health issues such as Diabetes and Heart Disease.

Some natural ways to become PCOS free is to take a closer look at diet. Eat a more natural diet, avoiding processed foods, such as white flour, white salt and white sugar. Try natural alternatives such as Xylitol. The new meal replacement shake, Shakeology is a protein drink that is great for people who are diabetic and pre-diabetic. Also consider a low glycemic diet and low, healthy carbs. The Eat Right for Your Blood Type diet is great. A natural progesterone cream like Pro-G-Yam has helped women balance their hormones naturally and regulate their cycles.

Other natural tips for good health and to help reverse PCOS is:
–    Avoid microwave ovens.
